Very Rare Gleave of Manchester Twin Iron Stail Engine / Rounding Plane

We are delighted to be able to offer this extremely rare stail engine or rounding plane made by Gleaves of Manchester. 

The twin iron provides a straight cut 2 1/4” and a 1 1/4” rounding profile. Neither irons have makers marks but appear to be original. 

The body is clearly marked with the makers name and also bears the users name J Hayman.

The body is 8 1/2” long by 4” wide. 

The body is built to accept a max 2” diameter dowel. 

Unfortunately there is some minor woodworm damage. We have treated this. This item is otherwise in beautiful condition and is a true gem suitable for the collector, we would suggest that this is a relatively unique opportunity to own such an item.
